Have you been wanting to try your hand at smoothies? Well then, you’re in the right place. I’m going to give you some smoothie suggestions for beginners. It’s the perfect way to start getting more fresh fruits and veggies in your diet.

Here are a few great things about smoothies. They are super quick and easy to whip up. No need to be a chef for this. Plus, they are really yummy. It’s the perfect meal or snack if you’re in a rush. And the recipes are so flexible. You can easily switch up the ingredients to make it your own.

So you’re bound to find a recipe that you love and can enjoy every day. With my smoothie suggestions for beginners, you’ll learn how to get more of that fresh food into your diet. And we all know that means a ton of more nutrients. So, let’s get started. I’m going to show you three different types of smoothies to make.

Fruit Smoothies

First, we are going to go with what’s probably the most popular one. It’s just a simple fruit smoothie. All you need is your favorite fruit and some milk or yogurt. Start off by getting one or two of your favorite types of fruit. Next, decide if you want to use yogurt or a little bit of milk. It’s going to just come down to your preference. Or whatever those taste buds are craving. Just keep in mind that you may need to practice with different variations until you find your favorite. Now, simply add all of your ingredients into your bender and mix it up with some ice.

This will make a refreshing and sweet drink. That’s why it’s the most popular. A fruit smoothie will be similar to a milkshake. But it will definitely be better for you. Watch your ingredients though. Or you may end up with a smoothie that’s just as fattening as a shake. And don’t forget, a fruit and yogurt smoothie can make for a wonderful, portable breakfast option.

Now, you can make a fruit smoothie with both fresh and frozen fruit. It’s your perfect year-round option, they are delicious any time of the year. Simply mix and match the fruit you use and you’ll have various recipe options. Plus, you can easily add a boost of protein for a more filling smoothie. Try adding things like some Greek yogurt, peanut butter, or even a scoop of protein powder. Be careful if your watching those calories though.

Green Smoothies

Alright, our second option is going to be a green smoothie. Now, these have actually become very popular in more recent years. But, this option is a great way to get more leafy greens and raw veggies in your diet. And if your tired of eating those salads it’s perfect for you. Don’t be surprised at just how much more greens you can work into your diet. All by simply adding a green smoothie to it. Just imagine the extra fiber and nutrients they’ll provide.

So, now for a green smoothie, you can add some fruits in with your veggies. This is probably your best option in the beginning anyway. The added fruit will help it taste better. Then, once you get used to them, you can decide if you want to leave out the fruit. Now, you just add your milk, yogurt, or even juice. It’s pretty much like the fruit smoothie with greens.

These can also make for a great lunch. Simply blend up your smoothie in the morning. Then, store it in the fridge until lunch. And when you’re ready just shake it up. You’re good to go. You’ll be able to enjoy a healthy lunch that will provide you with lots of nutrients. Plus, it won’t leave you feeling stuffed and tired, like a big meal would. You know how it is after filling your belly up on a big lunch. Finally, don’t forget to mix and match your greens and veggies from day to day for the best results. Otherwise, you may get burned out quick.

Savory Smoothies

And now finally, we have our third option. It’s going to be a savory smoothie. Most smoothies are sweet because you add fruit to them. But they don’t have to be though. A savory smoothie can still be very tasty. Just in a different way. Now, these are another perfect option for a quick lunch. It’s great for when you’re in a hurry. A savory smoothie will taste more like a cold vegetable soup.

You may want to give the following example a try. It’s inspired by Gazpacho, which is a Spanish cold tomato soup. What you will need is some greens, tomato, cucumber, and bell pepper. Then, get yourself some onion and vinegar. Now, just add a little water and blend. Wallah, you got yourself a savory smoothie. You can even whip up a smoothie that tastes like salsa in the same way. You’ll just have to play around with it. Try using different veggies and seasonings. Whichever ones you prefer. Plus, you can even add liquids like tomato juice and chicken or vegetable broth. It’s easy to mix it up.

So, go ahead and give smoothies a try. If you’re completely new to smoothie thing, it’s probably best to give the fruit smoothies a try first. Then work yourself up to the other options. You can start off with a few different recipes. Then just tweak and change things around. You will quickly build up your own personal collection. And before you know it you’ll end up with smoothies that suite your taste buds perfectly. Best of all, they will even help to fulfill your nutritional needs.

    1. Thanks. Sorry, it took me a minute to get back to you. Smoothies are great for on the go. They are so much better for you than a lot of other quick options. I like to use milk or yogurt in a fruit smoothie. Savory ones can be really good. Depending on your ingredients and taste preference, of course. They are great to use for lunch since they are more like cold soup though. Glad that you were able to find something new to try. Hope you enjoy them.

Your feedback is always welcomed and appreciated.
