If you’re here, you probably already know that walking is one of the best exercises that you can do.

And you must be looking for some easier ways to make it happen.

I’m going to show you how you can use a pedometer to step up and exercise daily.

So, let’s get to it.

Time

There is no doubt that finding the time to go for a walk every day can be kinda difficult.

It’s not always that easy to find enough time.

I mean, let’s face it almost everyone has a pretty busy life nowadays.

Between trying to balance your family and work, then throw the household stuff on top, who has time?

Sometimes it can seem like a circus show with all the juggling we do.

It’s too bad that kind of juggling doesn’t give us any exercise.

Then we wouldn’t have to worry about it.

But we do. And getting a workout in…doesn’t always work out.

More than likely, it gets tossed on the back burner.

But now, hold on! You know where this is going, don’t you?

There is a way to help get those steps in without actually needing extra time for a walk.

You can increase your activity a little bit at a time throughout the whole day.

You’ll even get the same benefits from it.

But, how would you be able to keep track that way?

Well, there is a nifty little device for that.

And you already know what it’s called.

That’s right. It’s a pedometer.

You can use a pedometer to step up and get exercise daily.

There are even inexpensive versions of them too.

You can find an average one for around 20 bucks.

And you can pick one up just about anywhere, places like Wal-Mart and Kohl’s.

Or, if you’re more of an online shopper you can order one from Amazon.

Now, of course, they do have more fancy ones, Fitbit for example.

But, these will also cost you quite a bit more too.

And just in case you can’t afford to purchase any of them, you still have another option.

Check out your smart phone, sometimes they have one already built in.

But if not you can always download an app for free.

I’m sure you already know that a pedometer tracks every step you take.

But, it even keeps track of how many minutes you were active and the distance you walked.

So all in all it tracks the amount of exercise you get each day.

Plus, using a pedometer can also help get you motivated.

You’re going to get more exercise because you’ll want to move more.

Watching that step number rise is going to push you to be more active throughout your day.

Keep it Simple

You’ll feel so much better knowing you got in a proper amount of exercise each day.

And you didn’t even have to struggle through a workout routine.

Because it doesn’t really matter how you get in your exercise.

It’s not as hard as you think either.

When you use a pedometer to step up and exercise daily.

There are even some simple ways to help you increase your activity levels.

You can do this without having to find a bunch of extra time in your day as well.

Take the following idea for example.

One thing to try out is parking a little farther away.

Now, this could be at your office or even at the grocery store.

Just that one thing can give you an extra couple hundred steps.

Another option you could try is taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

Or get a quick little walk during lunch.

If you’re close by the restaurant, decide to walk there instead of driving.

And finally, let’s say you’re with your kids at the park.

You could try to walk around while they play, at a safe distance of course.

But, you get the idea anyway.

Before long you’ll start to find your own ways to squeeze those steps in.

Believe me, there are plenty of opportunities out there.

It’s as simple as deciding to choose them.

Have Fun

So, it’s up to you now.

All you have to do is literally put one foot in front of the other.

Go get your own and test it out.

Aren’t you curious what your number would be? 

Have some fun with it! Maybe play a little guessing game.

You could use this for example:

Try to predict how much you walk around every day.

Then see exactly how many steps you do take.

Will you be shocked at the results?

Go ahead, grab you a pedometer and make it easier to step up and exercise daily.

Goals

Now that you have found your average step number, let’s go from there.

You’re going to want to set a stepping goal.

Then work on becoming a little more active over time.

Just keep making progress until you reach your goal.

And that should be around 10,000 steps a day.

That’s a pretty normal long term goal to aim for.

But, if you happen to be more of a go-getter, then, by all means, get up and go for it!

Motivation

Another motivational tool is going to be keeping an eye on your steps.

Now don’t overdo it.

You don’t want to just be constantly focusing on your step count.

But, checking your pedometer and noticing that you are getting close to your daily goal may help.

It’s going to give you a motivational boost.

That might be just enough to push you to keep at it and accomplish your goal that day.

Besides, imagine how you would feel if you noticed that you stopped with like 50 steps left!

We don’t want that.

Being upset with yourself is not going to help at all!

Celebrate

That’s another thing to remember, don’t be too hard on yourself.

This is to make you feel better, not worse.

Try to aim for your goal each day.

But, if you don’t make it, that’s okay.

It’s definitely not the end of the world, and you can start over tomorrow.

You want to be raising your self-confidence, not breaking it.

And on those days when you do achieve your goal, you should celebrate it.

Don’t go overboard and eat an entire cake or anything.

But, celebrating each achievement will also make you feel better about yourself.

Find a small reward that you would look forward to at the end of each day.

Let’s say, for example, a hot bubble bath or maybe just 15 minutes of “ME” time.

Pick something that you’re actually going to strive to get.

It can even be different things each day.

But, stick to it.

If you don’t earn it, don’t cheat!

And on those days that you do, enjoy your reward and Live It Up!
